In the Northern portions of the county Solid Waste Agency of Northwest Nebraska (SWANN) sites are available for rural and municipal SWANN customers to drop off trash, waste, or recycling material in lieu of traveling to the transfer facility in Chadron. Some citizens in the southern portion of the county have opted to use other waste management services.
